Donor-derived cell-free DNA
What this test measures
After a transplant, small fragments of DNA from the donated organ circulate in the recipient's blood. The share that comes from the donor rises when the organ is under immune attack.
Why doctors request it
Some transplant centres, mainly outside the NHS, use it as a non-invasive check between biopsies.

- Immune injury to the transplanted organ
- Infection in the organ

- A stable, well-functioning transplant
