What this test measures

Mumps IgG shows immunity to mumps from vaccination or past infection. It is the least reliable of the three MMR antibodies as a marker of protection.

Why doctors request it

Checked alongside measles and rubella when vaccination history is uncertain.

Past infection or vaccination, both giving lasting immunity
