What this test measures

Anti-La antibodies usually accompany anti-Ro, mainly in Sjögren's syndrome. The result shows whether the antibody is present; it does not by itself establish any condition.

Requested by specialists when symptoms and other tests point towards one of the autoimmune conditions, or as part of an ENA or liver autoantibody panel.
