Controls

Arrows or WASD: move and climb. Space: jump. X or J: pulse. E or K: use. Escape or P: pause. M: sound. Touch buttons give the same actions; play in landscape on phones. A standard controller uses A to jump, B to pulse and X to use.

One account, every device

Choose Player profile → Create account. Pick a public player name, enter your email and a password of at least eight characters, then open the confirmation email we send you. Sign in with the same email and password in the browser, on Android and on iOS: your name, best run and lifetime total are the same everywhere because they belong to the account, not the device.

Forgotten password

Player profile → Sign in → Forgot password. We email a link (valid for one hour) to a page on patientthread.com where you choose a new password. Your player name and scores are untouched.

Score saving

Ranked runs start in R&D and use the same fixed-step rules on every platform. A result is saved at the end of each shift, at game over and when you leave through the pause menu. The server replays your recorded controls and only then credits the points, so the leaderboard cannot be edited by a client. If a save fails, the result stays on this device: open Player profile and choose Retry saved result. The server credits each shift once, however many times you retry. Closing the tab or app in the middle of a shift loses that shift's unsubmitted points; earlier shifts in the run are already banked.

Offensive names, hiding and reporting

Open the ••• options beside a leaderboard name to hide that player (the hide follows your account) or to report an offensive or impersonating name. Patient Thread Ltd reviews every report and can rename or suspend a profile. You can also email us. There is no chat or messaging in the game.

Deleting your account

Player profile → Delete account, or use the deletion page in any browser. Deletion is immediate and permanent. Practice remains playable without an account.
