Who we are

The controller is Patient Thread Ltd, company number 17167409, part of the Lawrence Medical Ltd group (ICO registration ZC223090). Correspondence address: 9 Harley Street, London W1G 9QY. Contact: chris@patientthread.com. Boardwick is a working product name.

Boardwick is a booking platform used by pet care businesses (home boarders, kennels, catteries, daycares, dog walkers and pet sitters) and by their customers. When a pet care business uses Boardwick to manage its own customer records, that business decides what is recorded about its customers; we provide the platform they record it in.

What we collect

Why we process it

To provide the service you sign up for (contract): taking and managing bookings, keeping pet records, sending notifications you asked for, and producing invoices. To keep the service secure and improve it (legitimate interests). We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Where it lives

Data is stored with Supabase on AWS in London (eu-west-2). The web application is served by Netlify. Push notifications are delivered through your browser's push service (for example Apple or Google), which receives only the message we send to your device, not your account data. WhatsApp buttons in the app simply open WhatsApp on the business owner's own phone with a pre-written message; Boardwick never connects to WhatsApp, and never sees any chats.

How long we keep it

For as long as the account is active. Businesses can delete customers, pets, bookings and media at any time, and deletion cascades. If an account or business is closed we delete its data within 90 days, except invoice records the business may need to retain for tax purposes.

Your rights

You have the usual UK GDPR rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. If you are a customer of a pet care business using Boardwick, you can correct most of your own records directly in the app; for anything else, contact the business you deal with or email us. You can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
